Although it was very bleak this morning I still managed to hit a couple of bootsales, the first LP I bought was by the ISAAC HAYES MOVEMENT - "DISCO CONNECTION" for 50p. I always loved the track "Vykkii" from this LP, Swedish Hip Hop crew GROWIN PAINS sampled this on the "Stockholm Staal" 12" from 1997, producer Rusiak adjusted the speed to 45rpm and LOOPED DAT SHIT! check the clips

The find of the day had to be a MINTY FRESH copy of "THE GRUNT" by THE JB's on KING for a £1 the guy had some nice 45's I also copped THE CHUBUKOS - HOUSE OF THE RISING FUNK,ATOMIC ROOSTER - THE ROCK,TOM JONES - LOOKING OUT MY WINDOW worth getting out of bed anyway.

Another good week for you G...
ReplyDeleteDidn't make it out as I had a late one Saturday and then went for a nice bike ride with the kids on Sunday afternoon.
I picked up the Grunt 45 last year from my local booty but it's the U.K. issue on Mojo. One of my favourite Funk cuts of all time. Relentless from begining to end!
